5 Movies Banned By Indian Censor Board But Still Worth Millions.

There are some amazing movies out there which are still banned in India.Many films are banned on their sexually explicit content. crude language and substance abuse, but these films still made millions and praised by all over world. Here are the list of some movies.


1.Fifty Shades Of Grey (2005)

Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic romance novel by British author E.L James. It is the first installment in the Fifty Shades Trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism. It was banned by CBFC because of many sex scenes, the heavily sex-centric film was not given a rating by the Censor Board,even after cuts made by the distributor.

2. Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom (1984)

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a 1984 American action-adventure  film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is a second installment in the Indiana Jones Franchise and a prequel to the movie Raiders of The Lost Ark. After arriving in North India, Indiana Jones is asked a by desperate villagers to find a mystical stone and rescue their children from a Thuggee cult practicing child slavery, black magic and ritual human sacrifice in honor of the goddess Kali.This movie depicted Hinduism,Indian culture and traditions in a negative light this reason was enough for the Censor board to ban the movie.  The ban was later snatched.

3.The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011)

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a 2011 Swedish-American psychological thriller film based on the novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson. This film adaptation was directed by David Fincher and written by Steven Zaillian. Starring Daniel Craig and Ronney Mara.It's a thriller movie with some adult scenes of rape and torture.Censor Board demanded to cut these scenes but the director refused and the result is that we missed a fine piece of cinema.

4.The Da Vinci Code (2006)

The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 American mystery thriller film directed by Ron Howard, written by Akiva Goldsman, and based on Dan Brown's 2003 best selling novel of the same name.In this film, Robert Langdon, a professor of religious iconography and symbology from Harvard University, is the prime suspect in the grisly and unusual murder. There was a huge outcry in many states of India by the Christian community to ban the film. They said the film perceived anti-Christian message. Finally, it was banned in some states of India that is Punjab, Goa, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

5.Get Hard (2015)

Get Hard is a 2015 American comedy film directed by Etan Cohen and written by Cohen, Jay Martel and Ian Roberts. The film stars Will Farrell, Kevin hart, Alison Brie, Edwina Findely, T.I and CraigT.Nelson. The film was released on March 27, 2015 to negative reviews but was a financial success. The makers of the movie was pretty convinced that there was no way the Censor Board of India would let the movie play on Indian screens in it's original way.The Board asked the studio to edit some scenes but Warner Brothers decided to withdraw 'Get Hard'  Indian release.
